Award-winning jazz singer-songwriter Ori Dagan has attracted a dedicated and growing audience both in his native Toronto and internationally. He brings a wry and agile sense of swing to everything he does, whether interpreting a standard, spinning a pop tune on its head, or introducing his original music and lyrics. Ori’s rich bass-baritone is unmistakable, and Concerts in Care audiences love him!
His “audaciously truthful” song “Viruses” won him a Grand Prize at the Great American Songwriting Contest, and his 2022 release “Click Right Here” is a darkly humorous, tongue-in-cheek sendup of life in the digital age, with songs about online dating, social media and other blues paired with an 8-piece jazz band.
Ori is a singer, songwriter, teacher, social media guru, and community builder for jazz musicians, audiences, venues, and presenters. He is the Artistic Director of JazzInToronto, writes for publications such as The New York City Jazz Record, WholeNote, CODA, and BlogTO, and does a whiz-bang job of Emceeing events, entertaining corporately and privately with his ensemble, and generally being a good human in the musical world.
Concerts in Care appreciates not only his musicianship but his showmanship. Who else dresses like a skeleton for Hallowe’en and in a sparkly jacket for occasion concerts?
