Community Service Recovery Fund Success

For the past 10 months, Concerts in Care Ontario has had the privilege of funding from the Community Services Recovery Fund, developed by the Government of Canada to help service organizations recover and grow following the pandemic.

The three National Funders – the Canadian Red Cross, Community Foundations of Canada and United Way Centraide Canada – are collectively managing the National Funding Stream with the main goals of strength, adaptation, and resiliency to keep charities ahead of the curve.

CiCO received funding to commission strategic assessments and reports in the following areas:

  • Fund Development
  • Marketing and Communications
  • Business Development
  • Fintech
  • Human Resources

We have learned SO much, and we have tangible recommendations and directions to take us through the next two years.

A big shout out to @The Arts Firm, whose team was so savvy, curious, straightforward, and smart! We have an excellent document built around our combined Marketing and Fund Development work that is already having a positive effect on our language and awareness.

In addition, they wrote a truly focused, terse Human Resources and Succession Planning paper that will serve us well in the coming years.

With knowledgeable help from @Young Associates, starting in August, we will make the switch from QuickBooks desktop to QBOnline – exciting stuff for a team that loves to share financial information and be as efficient as possible.

Our own Brenton Chan, Music Coordinator, was the logical and brilliant choice to investigate and strategize our Business Development activities.

Thank you to the Canadian Red Cross, who facilitated and managed this grant for us and many others. We are definitely stronger, and have the tools to keep us targeted and resilient.
